How do I install and use the universal PTX?
Install in PTX as you would the OEM unit.
Reassemble powder measure.
Take a sized case, place in the powder measure station and raise the ram.
Screw the powder measure in until the PTX makes contact with the case mouth. You just want contact, nothing more at this point.
Lower the ram, and screw the powder measure further into the bushing as needed for the flare you desire. Guess and check by raising the ram back up.
Once you have the desired amount of flare, snug down the lock ring, and reposition the powder measure as needed, by taking the powder measure out of the press, with bushing, rotating to desired position and reinstalling via the bushing.
Note: Some powder measures come adjusted from the factory differently than others. If you do not get the desired results using the above method, you will have to adjust the allen screws on your case activated powder drop as shown in the photo. After adjustment, repeat the above process.
With the ram raised / shell in the plate:
1) Loosen the allen bolts holding the upper backet (circled in YELLOW) and move it a bit.
2) This allows the connector arm (GREEN ARROW) to correctly attach when the powder rotor is nearly at the top-most rotation.
3) Tighten the allen bolts. Reattach the connector arm.
